Homemade Croutons
Salads can get boring. Carbs make salads more interesting. Homemade, crunchy carbs make salads really, really interesting. Store bought, shelf stable croutons freak me out. They don’t even resemble bread? Anyway, homemade croutons are very straight forward. Start with a loaf of bread. I generally use a baguette style bread but whatever you have on hand will work. If anything, I try to avoid a super crusty bread — but again, no big deal.
Preheat oven to 375°. Toss your torn bread pieces with olive oil on a baking sheet; season with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Bake, tossing occasionally, until golden brown, about 10–15 minutes.
