How to Clean Fresh Herbs
Herbs can be dirty as hell. They come from the ground and the ground needs to be washed off of them. I never thought one of the most valuable things I learned in culinary school was how to wash herbs (and veggies), but, here we are.
Ok the best, most efficient way to wash herbs is to completely submerge your herbs into a bowl of water. The idea is to let all the dirt and debris fall to the bottom of the bowl. Remove the herbs, and refresh your water. Repeat this process two to three times until the water is clean after you remove the herbs.
And again, I’m all about saving time. Take the extra minute to read your herb packaging. Many herbs are already washed for you — take advantage of that!
